After ten years as a senior leader in the medical device sector, our co-founder John Kelly saw how much of diagnostics was ripe for transformation. Usability, convenience and simplicity were treated as afterthoughts, and when people cannot use a product the way it was intended, its performance is undermined.

He founded Atomo in 2010 to fix that and led the company as Managing Director and CEO until August 2026. In the fifteen years since, we have designed the sample collection and fluid handling out of the user's hands and into the device, and that principle still governs everything we build.

We have built the most consumer friendly platform available for rapid at home testing. Our integrated testing technology takes the steps most likely to go wrong, blood collection and buffer delivery, and designs them into the device itself.

Independent studies show overwhelming user preference for our range of blood based rapid diagnostic tests, and that preference translates directly into fewer errors and more reliable results in the settings where testing actually happens.
